Blessings and frustration.

It seems like I’ve been gone forever and its going by fast., We had a baptism last weekend her name is Tia Conyers, she’s 22 and it was neat to see her baptized. We have one the next 2 weekends as well, so that’s really cool. We teach a lot but they aren’t coming to church and a lot don’t keep their appointments, so it’s a little frustrating. I’m going on exchanges today to Greensboro so that’s cool. Thanks for all the little quotes you send me I really like them. Have a good week.

I Love it here!

Danville is a pretty big city, about 44000 I think and some days its really hot and its been raining a lot lately and its pretty humid sometimes. We are teaching a lot which is the awesome thing. I love it here.

Yea a lot of the elders remember Elder Eric Palmer. I’m doing pretty good here and we are teaching a lot. We have a baptism this weekend and we had a family of 4 we just found monday and they came to church and they might get baptized but I don't know yet. You can have Grandma and Grandad write me so they can ask me questions and all that stuff. You can send them some of the letters that I have already sent you guys that would work I guess. Have a good week.

Love ya

First week in the mission field.

Hey fam,

Well I’m in Danville Virginia right now and my companion is Elder Cumming and he’s a hard worker and a great companion. For the pics mom just send them all back in actual pictures and I’ll put the names of people that are in the pics and then I’ll send you back some. Have you sent my memory card back yet??? For the lightsaber pics we just put some colored lead in front of the flash and you have A LIGHTSABER. Flying was really fun I pretty much slept a lot of the flight and took some pics. Can you send me pics of the family and friends and stuff like that thanks. Well we got to the airport and met Pres Thomas and his wife and then the assistants drove us to the mission home. I saw where the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Bobcats play which was pretty cool. We ate dinner at the Presidents house and then we talked for a bit and the assistants helped us for a bit and then we stayed at their house. The next day we drove to Statesville to have the transfer meeting and get our companions and my bike was there. What we have done since I’ve been here is teach around 20 lessons, I think. The members have fed us a lot so far the ward is really small and its alright. Kind of like church back home except that I’m a missionary. So what’s new in life for you guys in Moses? Tell everyone I love them. Well ttyl fam.

Gone to Charlotte

We were able to talk to Marshall this morning for about 4 minutes (he called at about 6 this morning). He and his companions had to get up at 3 this morning to get to the airport early for their flight to Charlotte. He sounded pretty tired. It was very nice to be able to talk with him. It seems like he has been gone a long time, but it has only been three weeks. He has mentioned that he is little nervous about the flight and going out to the mission field. Thank you all for your support of Elder Goodrich, it is very much appreciated.

July 6, 2009

Hey Mom and Dad,

Thanks for the letters I really appreciate them. It sounds like you guys are soooooo bored without me, haha. We got to watch fireworks from the MTC because at the BYU stadium they were doing a firework show it was sweet. After the fireside last Sunday we went out to the front of the MTC because there was a lot of people out there. When we got out to the front Pres. Monson was there and he talked to us for like 10 or 15 minutes about our missions, it was awesome. I took like 5 pictures. We went to the temple today, it is pretty nice not as awesome as the SLC temple though. Probably my favorite scripture right now is Moroni 10:3-5 it’s a good one. Have a good week

It’s crazy that the next time I’ll talk to you guys is when I’ll be in North Carolina. It is so weird that I am finally starting my mission mission. Talk to you later.

Love,

Elder Goodrich
